Framing the Landscape

2020

An installation piece that aims to challenge the way we view the landscape, what we chose to see and what we are asked to see. The frame is a tool to focus in on particular movements, colours or compositions in the environment.  Often we only view landscapes though a frame whether that is a painting or a film; by bringing the frame into the landscape the viewer is encouraged to be present and connected while looking, it allows a comparison between the details ‘framed’ and the contextual surroundings.

Materials: Wooden frames (mostly from charity shops), Wire

Size: Frames varied roughly from A5 to A3
