A Film About Water

2019

Land Arts of the American West exchange program in New Mexico

This work combined films, projections and installation to create an immersive piece.  I had been focusing on the patterns, shapes and ripples of water, making short films that documented the various changes one body of water undergoes depending on the light, weather etc. The installation was designed so the films projected across different edges and surfaces, which would often cut the image in half.  The viewer could move though the space experiencing the films from multiple angles. I wanted the viewer to really get a sense of the energy of the water.

Materials: 3 projectors, panels of translucent fabric, rope, fishing wire
